The Transfiguration of Jesus

And six days later, Jesus took with Him Peter, James and John, and brought them up to a high mountain where they were all alone. Mark 9:2

One day Jesus took Peter, James and John up to a high mountain where they were all alone. While they were there Jesus was suddenly changed.

His clothes were shinning brighter than anyone could wash them. Then the disciples with Jesus was talking with Moses and Elijah, two prophets that had lived hundreds of years before.

Peter could hardly think. He said, "Teacher, it is good that we are all here! Let's make three little houses  from tree branches. One for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

All three of the disciples were frightened and confused, seeing Jesus so changed.

Suddenly, a cloud came over them, and a voice in the cloud said, "This is My Son, the One I love. Listen to Him!"

Then the three men fell to the ground and covered their faces. When they looked up, Moses and Elijah were gone, and Jesus looked just as He always had.

On the way down the mountain, Jesus said, "Do not tell anyone about yet what you saw up there."
